Sign-in session — management environment	Keeps you signed in while you work in the management environment. Contains a signed, random token — not your credentials.	Up to 12 hours, or until you sign out.
Sign-in session — self-service portal	Keeps you signed in to your personal portal (files overview, support, account). Contains a signed, random token — not your credentials.	Up to 1 hour of inactivity.
File-transfer session cookie	Keeps your connection to the file-transfer environment authenticated while you browse and transfer files. Contains a random session value — no personal data.	Until you close your browser.
Security token (file-transfer)	Protects your actions in the file-transfer environment against cross-site request forgery. A single-use check value — not a password.	Until you close your browser.
Server-affinity cookie	Connects you to the specific server that holds your session, so your sign-in keeps working across a clustered environment.	Until you close your browser.
Sign-in handoff cookie	Carries your verified sign-in securely from the login page into the file-transfer environment, so you do not have to sign in twice.	Up to 1 hour of inactivity.
Sign-in verification (temporary)	Holds your in-progress sign-in (encrypted) between the password and the verification-code step — for example while you read the code from your email.	About 10 minutes, then deleted automatically.
One-time notifications	Shows a confirmation or error message once after an action, then is removed.	Deleted as soon as it has been shown.
Language choice	Remembers whether you read the pages in Dutch or English.	One year.
Display preference	Remembers your dark or light display choice. Kept in your browser's local storage, not as a cookie.	Until you clear your browser data.
Your cookie choice	Remembers the cookie preferences you selected, together with the version of these settings they were made against. Kept in your browser's local storage, not as a cookie.	Until you clear your browser data.
Interface preferences (file-transfer)	While you use the file-transfer interface it may remember the choices you make there — your column layout, share history, and player settings. Placed by the interface itself and read only by it.	Until you clear your browser data.
